B-COMMAND Slip Ring Series EXD

The slip ring EXD was specially developed for use in silos. Various materials for rings and busts enable the transmission of high electrical power, signals and data from BUS systems.

The EXD is approved for zones 21 and 22:
Zone 21 is an area in which a hazardous explosive atmosphere in the form of a cloud of combustible dust in the air can occasionally form during normal operation.
Zone 22 is a place in which an explosive atmosphere in the form of a cloud of combustible dust in air is not likely to occur in normal operation but will persist for a short period only.

The cable outlet of the brushes is via one or two axial, explosion-proof cable glands on the underside of the housing. The rings are coiled through the central tube, which is also fitted with an explosion-proof cable gland. The cabling of the rings is already complete and has a standard length of 2 meters. This can be modified to customer specifications. Connector solutions are also possible.

The separation between rotor and stator takes place centrally on the underside of the base section. Within a radius of 75mm is the rotating central tube, on which the rings are mounted above the inside of the housing. The brushes are fixed on the bottom part above.

There are two module sizes available with outputs of 7A and 34A. Rings and brushes, which are made of copper graphite as standard, can be coated with a silver or gold alloy. This leads to an increase in the contact quality and has a positive influence on the wear properties.

An optional anti-condensation heater is available especially for the EXD, which prevents the formation of condensation water and thus corrosion.
