The newly developed FRD series of geared limit switches is the ideal solution for demanding industrial applications that require maximum precision and flexibility. With its innovative features and compact dimensions, the FRD sets new standards in motion control for industrial machines and systems.
The FRD geared limit switch offers reduction ratios ranging from 1:17 to 1:200, enabling it to precisely cover a wide range of requirements. Depending on requirements, the FRD can be equipped with a degree of protection of IP 42 or IP 65 to ensure optimum protection against dust and water.
The shaft of the FRD is made of stainless steel with a diameter of 8 mm, which guarantees durability and robustness even in demanding environments. The switch can be equipped with two to four switching contacts to offer versatile control options. The snap-action switches are positive opening (for safety applications) and are specially designed as changeover switches with 1NO/1NC for reliable and precise switching operations. The cam widths can also be flexibly adapted to fulfil specific application requirements.
For even more precise position detection, the FRD can optionally be equipped with an integrated encoder. Flexible cabling is made possible by a new type of removable plastic part that contains the cable gland. This allows the cabling to be completed before installation, which makes installation much easier.
The shaft of the FRD can be mounted both axially and radially, which offers a high degree of flexibility in terms of design and installation. Despite its numerous functions, the FRD remains extremely compact and space-saving. Thanks to the reduction to just a few gear wheels in the gearbox, the FRD offers extremely high accuracy and very low hysteresis, which enables precise movement control.
