The motor operated reversing contactors series Combi TLD18A consists of 2 single-pole contacts each with 1 NO/1 NC and the contactor TDL18B of 2 single-pole contactors each with 1 NO, both with internal cabling. The result for this compact product is a protection degree of IP 50.
The normal operation modus is 50% intermittent. The maximum permanent load is 15 minutes.
The NC contacts are not designed to switch on or off of the current.
The contactors do have a short off time (10msec.) and a relatively long turning time (approx. 20msec.). By this function safe reversing are possible and it is avoided that the contacts are closed simultaneously.
The use of spark diodes extends the off time and it is enormously important to choose the right diodes (diode + resistor).
